remember when I was younger, my father offering me advice
and wanting me to avoid the same mistakes he made growing

Sometimes
life makes you compromise, sometimes you have no choice
Made to see through another’s eyes you heed a different
voice
So you think that life is unfair
Why bother to try if nobody cares
Well rage at the world if you think you should
But I tried it before and it never did me any good
Some Things You Must Learn For Yourself
Sometimes
life makes you improvise; you make it as you go
After all it’s a big surprise we’re even
here at all
I’d like to think I’ve shown you my friend
there’s more than one means to an end
I’ve no regrets, I’ve earned my scars
but I traveled that road and it never took me very far

our reach?
We can love and we can teach each other a better way
We can change tomorrow if we start today
There’s a better world if we want to make it
