I always try to put some meaning or lesson in the lyrics
of my songs. And I’m always amazed that I am the
person who needs to heed the lesson the most. This song
became sort of a personal theme song for this album.
I’ve delved deeply into Eastern Philosophies and
drawn great comfort from the insight they provide. But
I still need a reminder every now and again. Just Let
It Go...
Let It Go (click for sample)
Why
are things always so complicated? Do you think you know?
Why do you always anticipate it? Can’t you let it
go?
Why are you always in such a hurry? What do you think
you’ll find?
Why do you always look so worried? Can’t you free
your mind?
Let it go…Let it flow
You gain nothing by your grasping
Let it come and when it’s done
There’ll be no more need for asking?
Then you’ll know to let it go
Why
do you try to control the here and now
When you really don’t have any power over anything
anyhow?
When you tighten up your grip, that’s when it
all begins to slip
Just when you think you know, that’s when you
have to
Let
it go…Let it flow
You gain nothing by your grasping
Let it come and when it’s done
There’ll be no more need for asking?
Then you’ll know to let it go
And
when you finally do
You will see the world
Open up to you
Let
it go…Let it flow
You gain nothing by your grasping
Let it come and when it’s done
There’ll be no more need for asking?
Let
it go…
Let it go…
